http://cutstuff.net/blog/?page_id=1490 I was talking to Waterfox about this in the chatbox (and indirectly everyone who read the conversation). It's a mod for Doom (the old one) but it's being made to be a stand alone fan game. The creator (and volunteers) is adding all the weapons from Mega Man 1-6, all the characters from Mega Man 1-6 as playable characters (and then some), and the plan is to add at least one map to represent each level from Mega Man 1-6. In order to play the mod, you'll need: * Skulltag (ignoring the fact that the site says you need Doom to use Skulltag) * the IWAD and PWAD for this mod. IWAD = Internal wad (mod file) PWAD = Patch wad (patches for the mod file) The creator says he'll bundle the IWAD and PWAD together and he's even trying to get Skulltag bundled with it. You don't actually need Doom to play! |

2010 is when he says. Let's hope that stays true. They really are making good progress with the game. I joined the forum to keep an eye on the project and help however I can. Many of the sprites are done. Stages are being completed left and right. Most, if not all, of the weapons are completed. |

Add Spark Man to that list.
So that accounts for all of Mega Man 1 and 2, and, as of that screen shot, 6/8ths of Mega Man 3. Shadow Man and Gemini Man remain (plus any Wily stages he wants to do). Lots of textures and tiles have been ripped from Mega Man 4 and are ready to be used. |

Sweet, the Doc Robots from MM3 are playable. Pretty boss. Yeah, I checked out some videos and this looks spectacularly nostalgic and fun. I will definitely be trying it out. |
